FOTD Narciso Rodriguez - For Her Délicate Limited Edition and Styler-Proof project

In February we have been lucky enough to be contacted by Condé Nast Editor's website (which is Style.it) editorial staff. We have been asked to take part to one step of this extremely interesting project called Styler-Proof. Basically, they sent us a product for free for testing and reviewing purposes. We've been invited to share our comments and opinions on a dedicated area of their own website. It's been an amazing experience and we loved it a lot. Now we want to share with you a little piece of it.

Nel mese di Febbraio siamo state così fortunate da essere contattate dalla redazione del sito web dell'Editore Condé Nast, che è Style.it. Ci hanno chiesto di partecipare ad una fase di questo progetto estremamente interessante che si chiama Styler-Proof.  In sostanza ci hanno inviato un prodotto a titolo gratuito affinchè potessimo testarlo e recensirlo. Siamo state invitate a condividere i nostri commenti e le nostre opinioni in un'area dedicata del loro stesso sito web. E' stata un'esperienza eccezionale e ci è davvero piaciuta un sacco. Ora vogliamo raccontarne anche a voi un piccolo pezzetto.

We received this stylish black box which we knew contained some samples of the new Délicate Limited Edition of the fragrance For Her by Narciso Rodriguez.
But really we couldn't even imagine that they would have sent us a 75 cl bottle of the Eau de Parfum, a 75 cl bottle of the Eau de Toilette, plus two tiny spray bottles of both, perfect for the handbag. Definitely a lot of stuff!

Abbiamo ricevuto questo pacchetto nero molto stiloso che sapevamo conteneva una campionatura della nuova Délicate Limited Edition del profumo For Her di Narciso Rodriguez. Ma veramente non immaginavamo che in realtà ci avessero mandato un flacone da 75 cl dell'Eau de Parfume, un flacone da 75 cl dell'Eau de Toilette e in più due miniature spray di entrambi, perfette per la borsetta. Decisamente un sacco di roba!

The two versions of the fragrance, if just sprayed, smell very similar, but after a couple of minutes they start their evolution in completely different ways. Their central note remains the musk and actually is the central thread that keeps the fragrance very sweet and embracing. In both cases it's not a fragrance we would go for, because we usually love more spicy ones. We loved the packaging because it's simple and minimal, but the chosen colours make it look more feminine and it is definitely beautiful.

Le due versioni del profumo, appena spruzzate, sembrano molto simili, ma dopo un paio di minuti cominciano ad evolvere in maniera completamente differente. La nota centrale resta il muschio che fa da filo conduttore e rende la fragranza molto dolce ed avvolgente. In entrambi i casi non si tratta di un profumo che sceglieremmo perchè di solito amiamo quelli un po' più speziati. Ci è piaciuto molto il packaging perchè è semplice e minimal, ma i colori scelti lo rendono molto femminile ed è decisamente bello.

The Eau de Toilette version seems more intense in the very beginning and you can smell the strong woody accord given by the patchouli. But after a couple of hours, it starts fading and it leaves just a delicate, sweet and floral smell on your skin. We had some difficulties in finding the announced fruity accord in it.

La versione Eau de Toilette all'inizio sembra la più intensa e si possono sentire le forti note legnose date dal patchouli. Dopo un paio d'ore, comincia a smorzarsi e lascia giusto un sentore delicato, dolce e fruttato sulla pelle. Abbiamo faticato ad individuare le note fruttate al suo interno.


The Eau de Parfum, which initially seemed weaker than its "sister", actually comes out after a couple of minutes and stays on your skin, very intense and powerful, for hours and hours.
You can smell the strong floral notes in the very beginning and then, as the hours pass by, you can smell the growing amber and woody accords. It is a Spring fragrance, but as it is so powerful, we would recommend it also for the cold season.

La versione Eau de Parfum, che all'inizio sembra più debole della sua "sorella", in realtà viene fuori dopo un paio di minuti e resta sulla pelle per ore ed ore, molto intensa e potente. Si possono avvertire dall'inizio le forti note floreali e poi, con il passare delle ore, si intensificano gli accordi ambrati e legnosi. E' un profumo pensato per la primavera, ma data la sua intensità, ci sentiamo di consigliarlo anche per la stagione fredda.

Overall it's an excellent product of high quality. We warmly recommend it to the sweet and intense fragrances lovers. In Europe it will be available in the main perfume shops starting from the beginning of March. If you want you can check on Sephora web shop whether it's already available and, in case, purchase it online.

Nel complesso è un prodotto eccellente di alta qualità. Lo consigliamo vivamente a tutte le amanti delle fragranze dolci ed intense. In Europa sarà disponibile nelle profumerie più importanti a partire dai primi giorni di Marzo. FOTD Yves Saint Laurent - Belle d'Opium

I never wrote anything about a fragrance in my life and I think it's not easy. I'll have a try for you, but I'm not sure of the result, so please apologize my mistakes and my lack of experience. Actually the thing is that I like so much this perfume, that I wanted to let you know something about it.

Non ho mai scritto nulla a proposito di un profumo e credo non sia semplice. Farò una prova per voi, ma non sono sicura del risultato, quindi chiedo scusa fin d'ora per i miei errori e la mia mancanza d'esperienza. Il fatto è che mi piace talmente tanto questa fragranza che volevo parlarvene.

Let me say that I have a quite weird relationship with fragrances. I mean, it's extremely difficult to me to find a perfume which I really like and that I would like to wear all day long, every single day. But once I find "mine", I can go on using it only for ages. Belle d'Opium by YSL is "the one" since quite a lot of time already.

Lasciatemi dire che ho un rapporto abbastanza strano con i profumi. Quello che intendo è che per me è molto difficile trovare una fragranza che mi piaccia fino in fondo e che vorrei portare tutto il giorno, tutti i giorni. Ma una volta che trovo "la mia", posso andare avanti ad utilizzarla per secoli. Belle d'Opium di YSL è "il prescelto" già da parecchio tempo.

The packaging is rich and chic. The carton box is a kind of iridescent, blue, purple and gold, showing a peacock feather on it. The glass bottle is covered by a purplish blue plastic layer. The spray pusher is golden and there's no cap, but only a plastic stopper to be used when carrying the bottle in a bag for example.

Il packaging e ricco e chic. La scatoletta di cartone è un po' cangiante, blu viola e dorata, ha il disegno di una piuma di pavone. La bottiglietta di vetro è ricoperta da uno strato blu/viola di plastica. Lo spruzzatore è dorato e non ha tappino, ma solo una specie di blocco in plastica da togliere ed utilizzare solo se si porta il botticino in una borsa per esempio.

The fragrance comes from the orginal Opium, but it's almost different, lighter and younger. It is in any case sophisticated and warm. It is oriental and its main ingredients are Casablanca Lily, spicy swirling Incense with overtones of a Nargileh accord. This deep fragrance is intense and if you spray it twice, it will last all day long.

Il profumo deriva dall'Opium originale, ma è parecchio differente, più leggero e più giovane. In ogni caso è caldo e sofisticato. E' orientale e i suoi principali ingredienti sono il Lilium Casablanca, l'incenso vibrante con l'indecifrabile nota sotterranea dell'Accordo di Narghilè. Questa ricca fragranza è intensa e due spruzzate durano un intero giorno.

This fragrance is very expensive as you have to pay between € 45,00  and € 85,00 depending on the size of the bottle. But I definitely think that is worth it. You can find it in the biggest perfume shops or online on YSL website, but they don't deliver to all the Countries or on Douglas web store.

Questo profumo è molto caro, infatti può costare tra i 45,00 € e i 85,00 € a seconda delle dimensioni della bottiglietta. Tuttavia credo che ne valga la pena. Si può trovare nelle profumerie più fornite oppure online sul sito web di YSL, ma non consegnano in tutti i Paesi oppure nel negozio web Douglas.

 

NOTD Nubar in Treasure

Again, from the Nubar's 2011 winter Prism Collection, we picked up another amazing colour (not so long ago we reviewed Jewel always from this collection). Treasure is a sheer violet extremely rich of holographic small glitters.

Abbiamo selezionato, dalla collezione inverno 2011 Prism di Nubar, un altro bellissimo colore (non troppo tempo fa abbiamo postato la review di Jewel sempre da questa collezione). Treasure è un viola molto glossy estremamente ricco di piccolissimi glitter olografici.

I like this colour because it's very unusual, surprisingly delicate and shiny. The glitters, being so tiny, don't look exaggerated, but they simply give brightness to the nail polish and, as they are holographic, under the light (better sunlinght) they have all the shades of the rainbow.

Mi piace questo colore perchè è insolito, sorprendentemente delicato e brillante. I glitter, essendo così piccoli, non sono assolutamente esagerati, ma semplicemente danno luminosità allo smalto e, poichè sono olografici, sotto la luce (meglio la luce del sole) prendono tutte le sfumature dell'arcobaleno.

This shade it's very wearable, I think it is gorgeous with almost every daytime look even if you have to go to the office or to school. The application is absolutely easy, with two coats it gives the result shown in the pictures that is quite sheer, if you prefer a more solid finish then you'll have to go for three or more coats. Despite the glitter it is very long lasting and it's extremely easy to be removed.

Questo colore è molto portabile, trovo che stia molto bene con praticamente qualsiasi look da giorno anche se dovete andare in ufficio o a scuola. L'applicazione è molto facile, con due passate si ottiene il risultato che si vede nelle foto che è abbastanza trasparente, se preferite un risultato più coprente, allora dovrete optare per tre o più passate. Nonostante i glitter lo smalto dura parecchio ed è estremamente semplice rimuoverlo.

Remember that Treasure (as all the Nubar polishes) is free of toluene, formaldehyde and phalate furthermore, very important, it is vegan and cruelty free. It costs about 8,00 £ and you can find it online on Nubar - Nailz website as well as on Beauty Bay or Feelunique.

NOTD Butter London in Toff

It was quite a long time I wished to try a Butter London nail polish. I've been attracted by their amazing site and by its amazing look. If you have a look at their site, for sure you'll know what I mean. Delicate colours, flowers, butterflies, the crowned crow, the skull...vintage / rock style! I'm totally obsessed with it!

Era da parecchio tempo che volevo provare un smalto Butter London. Sono stata attratta dal loro bellissimo sito dal bellissimo look. Se date un'occhiata al sito, sono sicura che capirete cosa intendo. Colori delicati, fiori, farfalle, il corvo con la corona, il teschio....uno stile vintage / rock! Mi fa decisamente impazzire!

The colour I chose is Toff. It's difficult to describe it. It's a light purple, quite dusty tone. Probably somebody would define it mauve. By the way I love it. It is a creamy colour, definitely solid with two coats only.

Il colore che ho scelto è Toff. E' difficile descriverlo. E' un viola polvere abbastanza chiaro. Probabilmente si potrebbe definire un color malva. In ogni caso mi piace molto. E' un colore pastello, molto coprente in due sole passate.

Toff is from the Autumn / Winter 2011 collection, made of 5 stunning colours. I really love every single one of them. There are three more shades to be added which are the Holiday 2011 collection, we reviewed The Black Knight here.

Toff fa parte della collezione Autunno / Inverno 2011, a cui appartengono 5 colori mozzafiato. In realtà mi piacciono tutti e cinque. Ci sono poi altri tre ulteriori colori che compongono la collezione Holiday 2011, abbiamo postato la review di The Black Knight qui.

As I already wrote, the result is very good with two coats only. The product gives you perfect coverage and a shiny colour. If I really have to make a tiny tiny remark, the formulation is a little bit thick, sometimes this makes a bit difficult the application. But overall, I have to say that I really like it and I'll be definitely trying more shades.

Come ho già scritto, il risultato è ottimo in due sole passate. Il prodotto offre perfetta coprenza ed un colore brillante. Se proprio devo fare un appunto, ma molto piccolo, la consistenza è un pochino spessa e questo, a volte, può rendere l'applicazione un po' difficoltosa. Ma in ogni caso questo smalto mi piace molto e proverò sicuramente altri colori.

NOTD Models Own in Aqua Violet

I've been looking for a weird colour like this since quite a long time. I have been in love with the Prism Collection by Sally Hansen, but I never have been able to purchase one of those wonderful nail polishes. Nevertheless now I found the gorgeous Beetlejuice 2011 winter collection by Models Own and I finally bought Aqua Violet!

Era da parecchio tempo che cercavo un colore strano come questo. Mi piaceva moltissimo la linea Prism di Sally Hansen, ma non sono mai riuscita ad acquistare uno di quei bellissimi smalti. Tuttavia ora ho trovato l'incredibile collezione inverno 2011 Beetlejuice di Models Own e ho finalmente comprato Aqua Violet!

I said it is a weird colour because it is a kind of iridescent changing colour. Depending on the light, it looks green, purple or turquoise.

Ho detto che è un colore strano perchè è una sorta di colore iridescente e cangiante. A seconda della luce, sembra verde, viola o turchese.

 







The application is simple and fast. It doesn't smell good at all, but I think it is quite a normal thing. It last about one week. The only thing that slightly disappointed me, is the fact that it is a bit too sheer.

La stesura è semplice e veloce. Non ha assolutamente un buon odore, ma credo sia una cosa abbastanza normale. Dura circa una settimana. L'unico punto che mi ha leggermente delusa, è il fatto che non è troppo coprente.

It is hard to show with pictures how this colour really looks like, but I really find it original and funny. Very good for the coming party season. If you don't live in the UK, you can find it online on Models Own website or on Asos or you can have a look on ebay, where I purchased mine.

E' difficile mostrare in foto come è questo colore nella realtà, ma lo trovo veramente carino e originale. Ottimo per il periodo di feste che sta per arrivare.
