NOTD Models Own in Aqua Violet

I've been looking for a weird colour like this since quite a long time. I have been in love with the Prism Collection by Sally Hansen, but I never have been able to purchase one of those wonderful nail polishes. Nevertheless now I found the gorgeous Beetlejuice 2011 winter collection by Models Own and I finally bought Aqua Violet!

Era da parecchio tempo che cercavo un colore strano come questo. Mi piaceva moltissimo la linea Prism di Sally Hansen, ma non sono mai riuscita ad acquistare uno di quei bellissimi smalti. Tuttavia ora ho trovato l'incredibile collezione inverno 2011 Beetlejuice di Models Own e ho finalmente comprato Aqua Violet!

I said it is a weird colour because it is a kind of iridescent changing colour. Depending on the light, it looks green, purple or turquoise.

Ho detto che è un colore strano perchè è una sorta di colore iridescente e cangiante. A seconda della luce, sembra verde, viola o turchese.

 







The application is simple and fast. It doesn't smell good at all, but I think it is quite a normal thing. It last about one week. The only thing that slightly disappointed me, is the fact that it is a bit too sheer.

La stesura è semplice e veloce. Non ha assolutamente un buon odore, ma credo sia una cosa abbastanza normale. Dura circa una settimana. L'unico punto che mi ha leggermente delusa, è il fatto che non è troppo coprente.

It is hard to show with pictures how this colour really looks like, but I really find it original and funny. Very good for the coming party season. If you don't live in the UK, you can find it online on Models Own website or on Asos or you can have a look on ebay, where I purchased mine.

E' difficile mostrare in foto come è questo colore nella realtà, ma lo trovo veramente carino e originale. Ottimo per il periodo di feste che sta per arrivare. Lush - Bath Bombs (Ballistics) and Soaps

If you are a blog reader or a YouTube watcher, for sure you'll have understood that there is no Christmas without Lush and let me say that I agree with that...or at least since a couple of weeks!

Se siete dei lettori di blog o se siete seguaci di YouTube, allora sicuramente saprete già che non c'è Natale senza Lush e lasciatemi dire che sono d'accordo...o almeno da un paio di settimane a questa parte!

So I've been to a Lush store and I found the new Christmas line. As the most attractive things to me in Lush are the bath ballistics, I purchased three of them which I really love.

Dunque sono stata in un negozio Lush dove ho trovato la nuova linea uscita per Natale. Poichè quello che forse mi attrae di più sono Ballistiche da Bagno, ne ho comprate tre che mi piacciono davvero tanto.

Bath Ballistics are amazing and divine smelling balls which you have to put into the warm water of your bath tub and suddenly they give off a wonderful scent all around. Furthermore they are moisturizing and relaxing and they are also fizzing once they get in touch with water.

Le Ballistiche da Bagno sono delle sfere fantastiche e profumate in maniera divina che si immergono nell'acqua calda della vasca da bagno ed improvvisamente sprigionano un profumo meraviglioso tutto intorno. Sono inoltre idratanti e rilassanti e, a contatto con l'acqua, frizzano.

Cinders Bath Bomb is probably my favourite one. It smells gorgeous. It is spicy and warm. It's got some red crystals on its top so it's also beautiful to be seen. I definitely love it.

La ballistica Magia Delle Spezie è probabilmente la mia preferita. Ha un profumo delizioso. E' speziata e evoca una sensazione di calore. Ha dei cristalli rossi sulla sua parte superiore e quindi è anche bella da vedere. Mi piace proprio tanto.

My second favourite Bath Bomb is the Butterball. Actually it is in the normal assortment, so it has not a Christmas scent, but I love it because it smells so sweet of vanilla and cocoa butter. It is deeply moisturizing.

La mia seconda preferita è la Butterbomb. In realtà questa ballistica fa parte dell'assortimento ordinario, quindi non ha una fragranza natalizia, ma mi piace perchè è molto dolce e profuma di vaniglia e burro di cacao. E' molto idratante.

And last but not least the Lil' Lush Pud. Probably it is the best looking because of the double colour and the holly leaf right in the middle. It smells of marzipan and lemon at the same time. It contains aloe. Really beautiful!

E ultima, ma non meno importante la ballistica Pandora. Probabilmente è la più bella da vedere per via del doppio colore e dell'agrifoglio proprio nel mezzo. Ha un profumo di marzapane, ma allo stesso tempo anche di limone. Contiene aloe vera. Davvero bella!



Furthermore the kind ladies in the shop, gave me a couple of soap samples, which in my opinion, smell really too fruity, but for sure I'll give them a try!

Inoltre le gentili ragazze del negozio mi hanno dato un paio di campioni di sapone, che personalmente trovo abbiano un profumo troppo fruttato, ma sicuramente li proverò!

All these products can be found in every Lush shop or online on their website which provide delivery all around your Country. The only remark is that in UK the prices are definitely affordable, whilst in the rest of the world, Italy included, they are higher and higher. A bath bomb that in the UK costs about £ 1,90, in Italy costs about € 3,90.

Tutti questi prodotti si trovano nei negozi Lush oppure online sul sito web che offre la spedizione in tutto il Paese. L'unico problema è che i prezzi nel Regno Unito sono decisamente convenienti, mentre nel resto del mondo, Italia inclusa, sono decisamente più alti. Una ballistica che nel Regno Unito costa circa £ 1,90, in Italia costa circa € 3,90.

NOTD Chanel "Quartz"

In one of the previous post we showed up Graphite, one of the three limited edition nail polishes belonging to fall/winter collection “Illusion d’Ombre” from Chanel.

It is a pearled brown with silver shimmer in it. The color is stunning. It is perfect for any occasion. I usually wear it to get to office.

To get the right coverage, you need to apply two coats. It lasts about five days with the top coat. Actually, I think that it is hard to remove because of the shimmers.

The negative aspect is the price. It is about 20€ but It’s worth because It is also perfect to wear in summer.

You can find it in all the stores which sell the Chanel brand.

In uno dei post precedenti vi abbiamo mostrato Graphite, uno dei tre smalti in edizione speciale, appartenenti alla collezione autunno/inverno 2011 “Illusion d’ombre” di Chanel.

Si tratta di un marrone chiaro perlato ricco di particelle argentate. Il colore è splendido, ha molteplici sfumature e alla luce del sole evidenzia tutte le sue peculiarità.

Quartz è perfetto in ogni occasione, in particolar modo lo utilizzo durante la settimana per andare in ufficio.

Per ottenere la giusta coprenza occorrono due passate e la durata è di circa cinque giorni con il top coat. Trovo tuttavia che sia difficile da eliminare completamente in quanto le particelle perlate rimangono sulle unghie.

L’unica pecca è il prezzo di c.a. 20 Euro ma credo ne valga la pena anche perché si tratta di un  colore che a mio parere sarà perfetto per l’estate, esaltato dall’abbronzatura.

Essendo ormai uscito a fine agosto, Quartz è nuovamente reperibile in tutte le profumerie che vendono il marchio Chanel. Questo colore diventerà permanente nella collezione smalti Chanel.

Elizabeth Arden - Eight Hour Cream

I read so many things on this cream and on the complete Eight Hour range by Elizabeth Arden that, in the end of the day, I had to buy it. It has been even mentioned again in "Beauty IN" supplement of this month's Vogue Italy in the last pages.

Ho letto coì tante cose a proposito di questa crema e in generale su tutta la gamma Eight Hour di Elizabeth Arden, che ho dovuto comprarla per forza. E' stata anche nuovamente menzionata nella ultime pagine riassuntive del supplemento "Beauty IN" al numero di questo mese di Vogue Italia.

A little bit of history...this cream was born in 1930...quite a long time ago I would say. It it has become quickly an essential must have. It's very thick, I would define it rather a balm than a cream. You can use it whenever you want, as many times as you feel you need it. It gives relief to irritated skin. You can also apply it on your lips and on your cuticles. It softens and ultra-moisturizes. It can be even used to soothe your skin afer sun burns.

Un pochino di storia...questa crema è nata nel 1930...un bel po' di tempo fa, oserei dire. Ed è subito diventata un must essenziale. E' molto densa e spessa, la definirei più un balsamo che una crema. La si può usare quando si vuole e tutte le volte che se ne sente l'esigenza. Riesce a dare sollievo alla pelle irritata. Si può applicare anche sulle labbra o sulle cuticole. Ammorbidisce e ultra-idrata. Può addirittura essere utilizzata per lenire dopo una scottatura solare.

And now two small issues about this great product. It has no smell at all, it is so thick and rich that makes your skin definitely shiny once applied. So I warmly recommend to avoid using it on your face or under your makeup before going out. It would be better applying it before going to bed.

Ed ora due piccoli difettucci di questo grande prodotto. Non ha alcun profumo ed è così spessa e ricca che purtroppo, una volta applicata, rende la pelle molto lucida. Perciò raccomando di non utilizzarla sul viso o sotto il trucco prima di uscire. Sarebbe meglio applicarla prima di andare a letto.

The limited vintage edition tiny glass pot of 30 ml with metallic lid, is definitely cute and very comfortable even if you wish to carry it in your handbag. I purchased mine on Cheap Smells. They sell it for about € 10,00 that is less than half RRP.  This site is great with small prices and amazing items. Check it out!

Il barattolino in vetro da 30 ml con coperchio metallico, in edizione vintage limitata, è molto carino e decisamente comodo anche nel caso in cui desideriate portare questa crema sempre con voi nella vostra borsetta. Io ho acquistato la mia su Cheap Smells. E' in vendita a circa € 10,00 che è meno della metà del prezzo di vendita retail. Questo sito è ottimo con prezzi piccolissimi e articoli fantastici. NOTD Essie in French Affair

Devo cominciare questo post con delle scuse, perchè le foto sono davvero pessime. Putroppo negli ultimi giorni c'è stata poca luce e non ho potuto fare meglio. In ogni caso, French Affair faceva parte dell'omonima collezione primavera 2011 di Essie...quindi questa review è decisamente in ritardo!!!

I have to start this post apologizing because the pictures are definitely horrible. Unluckily we had really dark days lately, so I haven't been able to do anything better. By the way, French Affair, was one of the colour of the homonymous 2011 Essie's Spring collection...so this review is absolutely late!!!

Il colore è un rosa pastello che tende leggermente al lilla. Come tutti i colori pastello che hanno l'intento di essere estremamente coprenti, la stesura è molto difficile. La prima mano è cruciale perchè il risultato finale sia uniforme, ma è non è semplice evitare zone più chiare e zone più intense.

The colour is a pastel pink which slightly tends to lilac. As almost all the pastel colours which want to be extremely covering, the application is very difficult. The first coat is very important in order to obtain a final very solid effect, but it's not easy to avoid lighter or more intense areas.


 

Per concludere, per amare questo smalto, dovete avere la passione per i colori pastello, chiari e soprattutto per il rosa. Personalmente non mi entusiasma molto, lo trovo abbastanza anonimo.

Io ho comprato la scatolina con le 4 miniature della collezione su Beauty Bay che ora non è più disponibile, ma si possono ancora comprare i colori separatamente in botticini standard.

Tuttavia è attualmente disponibile la nuova collezione inverno 2011 che è molto carina...provate a dare un'occhiata!

To conclude, in order to love this nail polish, you have to be in love with pastel, light colours, but most of all, with pink. Personally, I'm not so crazy about it, I find it quit anonymous.
I bought the tiny box with the 4 collection miniatures on Beauty Bay but now it's no more available, but you can always buy the different colours separately in standard bottles.
Anyhow it's now available the new 2011 winter collection which is very cute...try to have a look!
