Likaria Pâte - Cuticle Remover Paste

For sure you all know that, in order to obtain a good manicure, you have to remove cuticles from the nails edge. But you'll also know that experts advise against trimming them or, worse, tearing them. So what to do?! I personally found a solution with this magic red paste!

Sicuramente tutti saprete che, per ottenere una buona manicure, è necessario rimuovere le cuticole intorno all'unghia. Però sapete anche che gli esperti sconsigliano di tagliarle o, peggio ancora, strapparle. Quindi cosa fare?! Personalmente ho trovato la soluzione in questa magica pasta rossa!

It works this way. After having removed the polish for your nails, wash carefully your hands, then put a tiny bit of paste around each nail. You can apply it with the flat part of the wood stick that you nornally use for manicure. Once you'll have applyed it on all your nails, you can start pushing the cuticles backwards with the help of the other side of the stick.

Funziona in questo modo. Dopo aver rimosso lo smalto dalle vostre unghie, lavatevi bene le mani, poi applicate una minima quantità di pasta intorno a ciascuna unghia. Potete applicarla con la parte piatta di un bastoncino in legno di quelli che normalmente si utilizzano per la manicure. Una volta che l'avrete applicata su tutte le unghie, potete cominciare a spingere le cuticole indietro con l'aiuto dell'altro lato del bastoncino.

Now you can leave it on for other five minutes, then you have to remove it, simply by washing carefully your hands (Don't forget this step!). If you'll use it steadily, you'll have a reduced growth of cuticles upon your nails.

Ora potete lasciarla in posa per altri cinque minuti, poi dovete rimuoverla, semplicemente lavandovi attentamente le mani (Non dimenticatevi di questo passaggio!). Se la utilizzerete con costanza, otterrete una riduzione della crescita delle cuticole sulle vostre unghie.

The Likaria Pâte is an Italian Product from the Company Borella. The tiny round pot with light blue lid, comes into a small carton box containing also an instructions booklet. The paste is a sort of bright red gel with no smell.

La Pâte Likaria è un prodotto Italiano della ditta Borella. Il piccolo barattolino con coperchio azzurro arriva in una scatoletta in cartone che contiene anche un libretto di istruzioni. La pasta è una sorta di gel rosso brillante senza alcun profumo.

Chanel - Base Coat and Top Coat

Noi appassionate di smalti sappiamo bene che ci sono due fasi nella nostra manicure che ricoprono la massima importanza. Parliamo dell'applicazione di una base sulle unghie prima di stendere lo smalto  che abbiamo scelto e dell'applicazione del top coat che ci aiuta a rendere tutto più resistente e extra lucido.

We, nail polishes lovers, we well know that there are two stages in our "manicure" which are of the highest importance. We are talking about the application of a base coat, before painting our nails with the nail polish we chose, and the application of a top coat which helps us in making everything stronger and extra-shiny.


La mia scelta personale è quella di utilizzare i prodotti della serie "Beauté des Ongles" di Chanel. Non sono economici, ma dal mio punto di vista, meritano la spesa che si deve sostenere.

My personal choice is using the Chanel's "Beautè des Ongles" products. They don't come cheap, but in my opinion, their cost is totally worth.


La "Protective Base Coat" è ottima perchè, veramente, utilizzandola con continuità, tende a rendere più liscia la superficie dell'unghia e a rinforzarne la struttura, prevenendo sfaldature o rotture. Inoltre aiuta a stendere lo smalto più facilmente, evitando striature, e ne aumenta la durata.

The "Protective Base Coat" is very good because, if you use it continuously, it really tends to make your nails' surface smoother and to strenghten their structure, preventing flakings or breakings. Furthemore it helps you with an easier application of your nail polish, avoiding streaks and improving its lasting.

Il "Extreme Shine Nail Lacqueur" è perfetto per dare una finitura lucida e brillante alle nostre unghie. Aiuta a cancellare i piccoli difettini nella stesura del nostro smalto e a rinforzarlo, facendolo durare fino ad una settimana senza scheggiature. Permette inoltre un'asciugatura un po' più rapida, ma sicuramente non così veloce come altri top coat, come, per esempio, alcuni di Sally Hansen. Effettivamente questo potrebbe essere l'unico piccolo difetto del prodotto.

The "Extreme Shine Nail Lacqueur" is perfect to give a glossy and shiny final look to your nails. It helps cancelling any possible tiny defect in the application of your nail polish and strenghten it, making it last up to one complete week. It also make it dry a little faster, but not as fast as other top coats as some Sally Hansen's ones for example. And actually this could be the only little defect.

Il packaging è molto bello e lussuoso, come del resto ci si aspetta da Chanel. Entrambi i prodotti sono venduti in una scatoletta elegante nera ed argentata. La base è in un botticino bianco semi trasparente e satinato, mentre il top coat è in un accattivante e misterioso botticino nero. In Italia si possono trovare solo nelle profumerie più importanti, rivenditrici ufficiali del marchio Chanel, mentre per alcuni più fortunati Paesi, come gli Stati Uniti, è disponibile l'acquisto on line direttamente dal sito ufficiale.

The packaging is beautiful and rich, as actually you would expect from Chanel. Both items come in an elegant little box which is black and silver. The base coat comes in a white milky satin little bottle, while the top coats comes in an attractive and mysterious black little bottle. In Italy you can find them only in the most important perfume shops which are official retailers of Chanel brand, while in other luckier Countries, as USA, the online purchase is available from the official website.
