NOTD Essie in wicked

Sarà che è passato da poco Halloween e ci siamo abituati a convivere con zombie, streghe, fantasmi e soprattutto vampiri, sarà che i rossi scuri sulle nostre unghie sono un classico intramontabile per l'inverno o forse è sarà per via della mia attitudine, in fondo, un po' dark, ma lo smalto Wicked di Essie è sempre bello e attuale. Decisamente uno dei miei preferiti....se non addirittura il mio preferito.

Perhaps this is because Halloween is right behind us and we are now used to live together with zombies, witches, ghosts and most of all vampires, or because the dark reds on our nails are a winter must, or maybe because of my attitude, that, in the end of the day, is a bit gothic, but the Wicked nail polish by Essie still remains up to date and beautiful. Definitely one of my favourites...or even my favourite one.

E' un colore ricco e intenso, certo, scuro e il genere deve piacere. Io lo trovo splendido. E' un rosso che tende al nero con riflessi leggermente violacei. La finitura, come per la buona parte degli smalti Essie, è molto glossy. Questo rende il colore meno "impegnativo". Anche se può non sembrare vero, è uno smalto che si adatta agli stili più vari senza eccezione, a patto che venga portato su unghie medio / corte, perchè altrimenti è facile che risulti volgare.

It's a rich and intense colour, of course it's dark, and you must love this kind of shades. I personally think it's gorgeous. It's a deep red tending to black with some slighly purplish reflexes. The final result, as it happens with the most part of Essie's nail polishes, is very glossy. This helps making the colour less "heavy". Even if you can't believe that, this nail varnish goes well with every single outfit, but you should apply it on medium / short nails otherwise it could appear a bit rude.

E' inutile dire che gli smalti di Essie non si trovano in Italia, ma si possono acquistare molto facilmente online. Per esempio su Beauty Bay oppure su Feel Unique, tanto per citarne due, ma basta fare un po' di ricerca e poi scegliere quello che vi sembra più vantaggioso.

Un'ultima cosa, è molto importante stendere una base prima di applicare questo smalto e poi, quando necessario, rimuoverlo con cura perchè un colore così scuro tende a macchiare.

One last thing, it's very important to apply a base coat under this nail polish and, when it will be the time, you should remove it carefully, because being such a dark colour, it tends to stain.
