Revlon Colorstay foundation

I read such good reviews about the Revlon that I decided to pick it up and give it a try. I got mine for combination-oily skin in a drugstore at 13 Euro. There was a 35% discount and the actual price should be around 20 Euro. So why not?

The consistency is quite thick but  it dries really fast so you have to be very quick with the application. it is very easy to blend, the feeling on the skin is nice and smooth and yes, it stays all day.  Unfortunately, these are the few pro.

When I applied it the first time I started scratching my skin, and when I rinsed it off I found many little bubbles. Maybe I have a kind of allergy to some of the ingredients. I don’t usually use “Bio” foundation, so probably if you try this you won’t have the same reaction.

Another downside is the packaging. The glass bottles doesn’t have a pump, so the foundation does not come out easily. When you don’t use it, you have to leave it upside down.

I tried it a couple of time, so these are my first impression. Actually, because of this kind of allergy I don’t think I’m using it anymore.

NOTD - Essie Bahama Mama

This time I want to show you off one of my favorite nail polish I’m wearing a lot recently. I’m talking about Bahama Mama. 

I have to say I was tempted to buy this Essie nail polish after reading many reviews and yes, I immediately fell in love with it. The color is perfect for fall winter time. 

It is  a deep red purple burgundy shade with a super glossy finish. I love a jelly look on my nails. The formulation is gorgeous. It is smooth, not too thick but perfectly opaque in two coats. 

This nail polish came out in Summer 2007 but it became popular among beauty blogger this year, according to the fall winter trends. 

Essie nail polishes are available at Sephora at 12 Euro in Italy but they are also sold online. Check Feelunique or Beautybay.

REN F10 Smooth and Renew Mask

Today I want to show you off one of the brands I discovered lately. I’m talking about REN Clean Bio Active Skin Care.

The products are are free from skin-unfriendly ingredients: Synthetic fragrance, pore-blocking petrochemicals, sulfate detergents, synthetic colours, and parabens.

The first time I came across into REN products was in London where I was given a little sample of a face mask.

REN has different lines to mach all the different skin types and needs. I really recommend you to check out the web site http://www.renskincare.com/

The F10 Smooth and Renew Mask is formulated for sensitive skin to gently exfoliate and detoxify. It is a gel based and helps to leave the complexion smooth, toned and radiant. This is what REN claims and it is entirely true.

The smell is also amazing. The mask contains vitamin C, orange, mandarin, grape fruit and pinapple essential oils. I think it is a luxury pampering product, perfect to start a Sunday morning. I apply it on clean skin and leave it for 10 minutes. Then I wipe the mask off with a cotton tissue (you find it in the box) and rinse my skin with warm water.

The price is about 30 euros. Quite pricy but it’s really worth the money spent. If there is not a REN counter in your place, REN people will send you a list of shops where you can find the products.

Chanel glossimer n. 169 -Jalousie

This time I want to talk about a product I’ve raved about for quite some time and finally I got it. I’m talking about the Chanel glossimer n. 169  “Jalousie”.

I think it is one of my favorite product of 2012. I definitely love everything of it. The color is a hot raspberry pink with small shimmers in it. The consistency is not sticky and It lasts about two hours without fading. And when it fades it leaves a rosy hue on your lips.

It is not extremely glossy but it is a plus for me. The only downside is that it smudge easily so it is better to use a lip pencil.

The gloss is quite pricy, I bought it from Sephora at 25 euros, but it’s worth.

And you, what do you think about Chanel glosses?

Questa volta  vorrei parlarvi di un prodotto che ho tenuto d’occhio per un pò di tempo e poi alla fine ho ceduto e l’ho acquistato. Sto parlando del glossimer Chanel n. 169 “Jalousie”.

Credo che sia uno dei miei prodotti preferiti del 2012 e semplicemente lo adoro. Si tratta di un gloss dal colore lampone con all’interno dei micro glitter. La consistenza non è per nulla appiccicosa, e la durata è di circa due ore, sempre che non si beva o mangi.

Non è particolarmente glossy e questo per me è un punto a suo favore. L’unica pecca è che se non si presta un po’ di attenzione, è possibile ritrovarlo non solo sulle labbra, quindi sarebbe meglio utilizzare una matita per labbra prima di applicarlo.

Il prezzo non è abbordabile. Il mio l’ho acquistato da Sephora a 25 Euro ma ne vale la pena.

NOTD L'Oreal in Insolent Magenta - Color Riche Nail collection

When I first saw the Color Riche Nail collection in shops, it didn't convince me that much. I didn't even think to buy one. Why? I don't know. I couldn't find the packaging so attractive and ages ago I owned a couple of their nail polishes which didn't impress me at all and, last but not least, as far as I know, L'Oreal tests its products on animals and this is another good reason to buy something else (even if I know that the NOT cruelty-free companies are definitely a lot, quite all for the moment).

Quando ho visto per la prima volta la collezione Color Riche Nail nei negozi, non mi ha convinta molto. Non ho nemmeno pensato di comprarne uno. Perchè? Non saprei. Non trovavo il packaging troppo attraente e tanto tempo fa ho avuto un paio di loro smalti che non mi hanno affatto colpita e inoltre, ultimo ma non meno importante, per quel che ne so, L'Oreal testa i suoi prodotti sugli animali e questa è già un'ottima ragione per comprare altro (anche se so che le aziende NON cruelty-free sono molte, quasi tutte per ora)

I bought anyway n. 504 Insolent Magenta and I have to say it is very good! I loved the colour, the texture, the lasting and how easy it is to apply. Starting from the hue, I can say it is a deep fuchsia, quite dark, tending to red more than pink. It is quite a cold shade as it contains a subtle blue shimmer that you can see perfectly in the bottle, but not on the nails.

Ho comunque acquistato il n. 504 Insolent Magenta e devo dire che è ottimo! Mi sono piaciuti il colore, la formulazione, la durata e quanto è semplice applicarlo. Cominciando dalla tonalità, posso dire che si tratta di un fucsia intenso, abbastanza scuro, che tende di più al rosso che al rosa. E' una sfumatura abbastanza fredda anche perchè contiene un sottile shimmer blu che si può vedere perfettamente nel botticino, ma non sulle unghie.

The formulation is good, it looks quite like gel once it dries, but it's a little bit thicker than usual when applying it. The special brush is something never seen before. It is flat and quite wide and the end part is rounded. This allows you to be very precise in applying the polish on the bottom of the nail and a little less on the sides. Overall I really like it.

La formulazione è buona, una volta asciutto sembra quasi gel, ma è un po' più spesso del consueto quando si tratta di applicarlo. Il pennellino speciale è qualcosa di mai visto prima. E' piatto ed abbastanza largo e la parte finale è arrotondata. Questo permette di essere molto precisi nello stendere lo smalto alla radice dell'unghia ed un po' meno ai lati. In ogni caso mi piace molto.

It lasts really more than one week without chipping or cracking. It is extremely glossy and bright. It is an amazing colour for any season. The bottle is quite tiny, the right quantity to avoid wastes of product or getting bored of the shade.

Ha una durata davvero superiore alla settimana senza scheggiarsi o formare crepette. E' estremamente lucido e luminoso. E' un ottimo colore per qualsiasi stagione. Il botticino è abbastanza piccolo, quanto basta per evitare sprechi di prodotto o per annoiarsi della tonalità.

 

The Color Riche Nail collection comes in a wide range of shades for a very reasonable price. You can find them at about 4 € each. You can buy them in all the perfume shops or drugstores or in OVS stores in Italy.

La gamma Color Riche Nail è disponibile in una vasta gamma di colori ad un prezzo decisamente ragionevole. Si trovano a circa 4 € l'uno. Si possono comprare in tutte le profumerie o nei negozi OVS in Italia.

Clinique "Supermoisture Makeup" foundation

It is the first time I purchased a Clinique foundation. I have a very sensitive skin lately and I thought that Clinique products would have been the right choice. So, I decided to buy the one called Supermoisture makeup in the color Sand. The product is perfect for whom with dry or very skin  The consistency is creamy, it blends on the face very easily either with hands or a sponge. Its coverage is from light to medium. What I really like about this foundation is that it makes my skin breath all day long. What I dislike is that it doesn’t have spf and contains micro glitters or a sort of. Unfortunately, I recognized them only when applied it at home. I usually go for matt texture and this foundation makes my skin shiny too much, especially my forehead. I’ve been using it for a month and it hasn’t been causing me any irritation o drying parts on my face. Actually, I don’t repurchase it again, the glitters are very annoying even if the price is affordable: 27 Euros at Sephora. And you, have you ever tried this foundation?

E’ la prima volta che acquisto un fondotinta Clinique. Ultimamente ho la pelle del viso piuttosto sensibile e ho pensato che i prodotti clinique fossero l’ideale. Così ho scelto il Supermoisture makeup nel colore Sand . Il prodotto è ideale per chi ha la pelle secca. Ha una consistenza cremosa, si stende facilmente sul viso, sia con le mani sia con una spugnetta. La coprenza e modulabile da leggera a media. Ciò che mi piace di questo fondotinta è il fatto che lascia traspirare la pelle tutto il giorno e a fine giornata è perfettamente idratata. Ciò che invece non apprezzo è che non ha spf e  contiene micro glitters, se posso definirli così (purtroppo me ne sono accorta solo dopo aver provato a casa). Personalmente preferisco texture matt e questo fondotinta fa risplendere la pelle in modo eccessivo, mettendo in risalto i punti in cui diventa più lucida. Oramai è circa un mese che lo utilizzo  e non mi ha causato alcuna irritazione o creato zone del viso più aride. Tuttavia, i glitter all’interno non lo rendono un prodotto da riacquistare, anche se il prezzo, per essere un prodotto venduto in profumeria si abbordabile: circa 27 euro. E voi ragazze, avete già provato questo fondotinta? Cosa ne pensate?

Mac Creamblend blush in Optimistic Orange

When I heard that it was possible to place online orders on MAC Italian website I couldn’t resist and I got a couple of things from the Shop Mac Collection everywhere sold out.

Beside the Tendertone that I wanted to try, I bought the cremeblend blush “Optimistic Orange”. I’m so in love with cream blushes and if you have a dry skin, they keep it moisturized all day long and are easily blendable. The color is a plain orange, or if we want to follow the 2012 summer trend, we can call it tangerine tango. It is perfect on any skin tone because the texture is modular and transparent as you can see from the swatch down below. I doesn’t contain glitters and once it sets on the skin, it seems like a powder blush. 

Quando ho saputo che era possibile acquistare sul sito Mac Italia, non ho resisto e ho subito messo nel carrello un paio di prodotti della collezione shop mac ormai sold out in tutti i corners.

Oltre all’ormai decantato tendertone che volevo assolutamente provare, ho acquistato il creamblended blush “Optimistic Orange”. Adoro i blush in crema e soprattutto per chi ha la pelle secca sono perfetti perché la lasciano idratata tutto il giorno, e sono facilissimi da stendere e sfumare. Il colore è arancione ,  o se vogliamo seguire il trend primavera–estate 2012 potremmo anche chiamarlo tangerine tango. E’ perfetto per tutti i tipi di carnagione in quanto la texture è modulabile, e rimane molto trasparente e naturale sul viso. Non contiene glitter e una volta che si fissa sulla pelle, risulta come fosse un blush in polvere.

Sono più che soddisfatta del prodotto e dell’acquisto online sul sito. Oltre alla spedizione gratuita, che purtroppo credo sia temporanea, il pacco è arrivato circa 7 giorni dopo aver inserito l’ordine. Inoltre, all’interno del pacco era contenuta una lettera in cui con mia grande sorpresa, la mac specificava la possibilità di recedere dall’acquisto entro due settimane insieme alla la restituzione del denaro. Lush Lip Balms in Honey Trap (Gustami) and Snow Fairy (Fatevi)

If I think of all the times that I passed in front of a Lush shop without stopping or even giving a look at it, I cannot realize why I have recently become obsessed by this Brand. Probably it's because a lot of bloggers and vloggers lately started talking about it. So I convinced myself that testing some products was not a bad idea and now I'm totally in love with almost everything they sell. Today I'll be reviewing a couple of their lip balms.

Se penso a tutte le volte in cui sono passata davanti ad un negozio Lush senza fermarmi o anche solo senza lanciargli un furtivo sguardo, non riesco a capire come questo marchio possa essere diventato ultimamente un'ossessione per me. Probabilmente è perché molte blogger e vlogger hanno cominciato a parlarne sempre di più. Così mi sono convinta del fatto che testare qualche loro prodotto non fosse una cattiva idea ed ora sono infinitamente attratta da praticamente tutto ciò che vendono. Oggi vi scrivo una review su un paio di balsami per labbra.

To be honest I didn't even knew they were selling lip balms. I first tried Snow Fairy lip tint as I bought it during the Christmas sale. Actually it is a pink lip balm strongly smelling of bubblegum. It's nice, it mosturizes quite well your lips giving them a subtle hint of colour. By the way I think you cannot purchase it anymore because it was a limited edition.

Ad essere sincera, non sapevo che vendessero balsami per labbra. Per primo ho provato la tinta per labbra Fatevi. L'ho acquistato nei saldi di Natale. Si tratta di un balsamo labbra rosa con un forte profumo di bubblegum. E' carino, idrata abbastanza bene e colora leggermente. Tuttavia credo che ora non si trovi più perchè era in edizione limitata.

My absolutely favourite one is Honey Trap. It is amazing. You can really feel it is of natural origin. It smells divine of white chocolate, honey and mint. It comes, as all the others, in a small round tin box with a light pink label. It is beautiful. It provides relief to chapped lips as well as it keeps them soft and smooth. I definitely reccomend it.

Il mio preferito in assoluto è Gustami. E' meraviglioso. Ci si rende davvero conto della sua formulazione naturale. Ha un profumo divino di cioccolato bianco, miele e menta. Come tutti gli altri, è contenuto in una piccola scatolina rotonda di metallo con un'etichetta rosa confetto. E' bellissimo. Dona sollievo alle labbra screpolate e le mantiene morbide e soffici. Decisamente ve lo consiglio.

On a side note, I have two small remarks. The first one is the price as they don't come cheap at all. Mostly outside the UK, you have to pay about 7,30 € for them, which is not a very good price, considering that the tin box contains a small amount of product.

Ho tuttavia due piccole critiche da fare. La prima riguarda il prezzo perchè queste piccole meraviglie non sono affatto economiche. In particolare, fuori dal Regno Unito, si pagano circa 7,30 € che non è un ottimo prezzo, considerando anche il fatto che la scatoletta contiene davvero una piccola quantità di prodotto.

The second small flaw is linked to the texture of the product. I guess it depends on the fact that it's made of natural ingredients and waxes. Actually the thing is that the balm is quite hard and you need to work it with your fingers, heating it for some seconds, before you are able to apply it on your lips.

Il secondo piccolo difetto è legato alla consistenza del prodotto. Credo dipenda dal fatto che è realizzato con ingredienti e cere natuarali. Il problema è che il balsamo è abbastanza duro ed è necessario lavorarlo un po' con le dita, riscaldandolo per qualche secondo, prima di poterlo applicare sulle labbra.

Overall I love these two lip balms and I would repurchase them again and again. And I think I'm going to try some other flavours and colours.

In ogni caso questi due balsami per labbra mi piacciono moltissimo e li ricomprerei subito. Penso anche che proverò altri sapori e colori.

Lush products can be purchased in their shops if you are lucky enough to have one of them close to your home. Otherwise you can buy them online as they deliver almost all around the world, but the shipping costs are not very cheap.

Potete acquistare i prodotti Lush presso le loro botteghe monomarca, se siete così fortunati da averne una vicino a casa. Altrimenti potete comprarli online visto che consegnano praticamente in tutto il mondo, ma i costi di trasporto non sono molto convenienti.



Chanel Les Jeans Collection "Blue Boy"

When in September Les Jeans Collection came out during the Vogue Fashion Night Out 2011 I completely missed these nail polishes.  This March Chanel started selling Les Jeans Collection again and this time I ended up by getting Blue Boy. I have to say that among the three colors, this is definitely my favorite one. While the darkest one called Blue Rebel is too dark to ware in spring, the lightest Coco Blue is the classic sky pastel blue seen in many nail polishes collections. So Blue Boy is the perfect mix of the other two: a mid tone blue not too dark, not too light. The formulation is not the best, you need three coats to reach the perfect coverage. Besides, it lasts about a week if you wear a top coat. The price is around 21 Euros but If you want to spend less, Nubar came out with a collection of dupes called “Jeans Collection” available on Feelunique.com at 10 Euros including shipping cost.

Quando a settembre durante la  Vogue Fashion Night Out 2011 era uscita la collezione Les jeans di chanel, non ero riuscita ad acquistarli, finalmente a marzo, Chanel li ha riproposti e questa volta non mi sono lasciata sfuggire Blu Boy. Devo dire che fra i tre colori, questo è sicuramente il mio preferito. Blue rebel è un blu scuro, perfetto per l’autunno/inverno, Coco Blue è un azzurro cielo forse un po’ inflazionato, mentre blue boy è il mix  perfetto dei due, un mid-tone blue né troppo chiaro né troppo scuro. La formulazione non è delle migliori, ci voglio tre passate affinchè il colore risulti coprente. Lo sappiamo già i colori Chanel sono splendidi, le formulazioni lasciano spesso a desiderare. La durata invece è ottima, circa una settimana applicando un top coat. Il prezzo si aggira intorno ai 21 euro. Se volete spendere meno, Nubar è uscita con una collezione di 3 smalti intitolata “Jeans Collection” che potete acquistati sul sito Feelunique.com  al costo di 10 Euro spese di spedizione incluse.

Skin care - Morning Moisturizing - Anatomicals No Old Bags Allowed and Caudalie Pulpe Vitaminée Anti-Wrinkle Fluid

Some months ago, I posted my evening cleansing routine that you can read here. Now I would like to show you how I'm currently proceeding with my morning face moisturizing. Let me start saying that I have two staple products which are Anatomicals' No Old Bags Allowed for my eye area and Caudalie Pulpe Vitaminée anti-wrinkle fluid for the rest of my face.

Qualche mese fa, ho postato la mia procedura di pulizia del viso serale e, se volete leggerla, la trovate qui. Adesso vorrei mostrarvi come faccio ad idratare la mia pelle la mattina. Fatemi cominciare dicendo che ho attualmente due prodotti di base che sono No Old Bags Allowed di Anatomicals per il contorno occhi e Caudalie Pulpe Vitaminée anti-wrinkle fluid per il resto del viso.

After having washed my face, I proceed patting with my ring finger a tiny amount of Anatomicals' No Old Bags Allowed gel on the area below my eyes. Anatomicals is a UK brand which I personally like a lot. They sell several face and body care products with beautiful and colourful packagings at very reasonable prices. No Old Bags Allowed has a gel texture, very light and refreshing.

Dopo essermi lavata il viso, procedo picchiettando con l'anulare una piccola quantità del gel No Old Bags Allowed di Anatomicals solo nella zona al di sotto degli occhi. Anatomicals è un marchio britannico che mi piace molto. Produce diversi articoli per la cura del viso e del corpo con bellissimi packaging colorati a prezzi molto ragionevoli. No Old Bags Allowed ha una formulazione in gel, molto leggera e rinfrescante.

It reduce the puffiness of the morning and meanwhile it moisturize the very sensitive skin of that area which remains soft and elastic all day long. It isn't sticky and it has no smell, thing that helps reducing the possibility of allergic reaction.

Riduce il gonfiore mattutino delle borse e, nel mentre, idrata la pelle molto sensibile di quest'area che rimane morbida ed elastica per tutto il giorno. Non tende ad essere colloso e non ha profumo, cosa che riduce la possibilità di reazioni allergiche.

Before I go on, I need to tell you that I've got a combination skin with some more oily areas and some drier and sometimes some blemishes, so probably my routine wouldn't be suitable for all of you. Having said that, I go on applying my Caudalie Pulpe Vitaminée Anti-Wrinkle Fluid, which is really amazing. I bought my first bottle when I received a sample of it at home about one year ago and I repurchased it again and again and it's currently my favourite.

Prima di proseguire, devo dirvi che io ho una pelle mista con zone più grasse e zone più secche e talvolta alcune imperfezioni o brufoletti, quindi probabilmente la mia routine non è adatta a tutti voi. Detto questo, procedo applicando il mio fluido Caudalie Pulpe Vitaminée Anti-Wrinkle che è davvero strepitoso. Ho cominciato acquistando il primo botticino dopo aver ricevuto un campione a casa circa un anno fa, del quale mi sono innamorata e così l'ho ricomprato più volte e, per il momento, resta il mio preferito.

 

The formulation is rich of natural smoothing and energizing ingredients. It contains grape-seed polyphenols and it's free from parabens and artificial colorings. It's not tested on animals (yess! - Companies, test on bloggers not on animals!!!) It smells divine: fruity and fresh. It's light, not oily and you can use two simple pumps to moisturize your face for all day.

La formulazione è ricca di ingredienti naturali lenitivi ed energizzanti. Contiene polifenoli ricavati dai semi dell'uva e non contiene parabeni o coloranti artificiali. Non è testato sugli animali (siii! - Aziende, testate sulle blogger non sugli animali!!!) Ha un profumo divino: fruttato e fresco. E' leggero, non unge ed è sufficiente premere due volte il pratico erogatore per ottenere la giusta quantità per idratare il viso un giorno intero.
